Woman of Light

Woman of Light

Set during the early 20th century in the American West, this bewitching story follows Luz "Little Light" Lopez, an Indigenous Chicana tea leaf reader and laundress who, after her brother is chased out of town, must navigate the world on her own for the first time. Luz begins to have visions of her ancestors and bears witness to the many highs and lows they lived through in her Indigenous homeland of the Lost Territory. Told from the perspective of lively and memorable characters, WOMAN OF LIGHT is a sweeping multigenerational tale of struggle and loss, hope and love, and how one family's grit and determination helped them survive.
